Wow! What an awesome ride this weekend. Thanks to all who came out and participated. We made one impressive gang heading around Old Palm Harbor.
Now I know some of you just can’t wait to find out about the next one, so here’s a little bone…
Saturday, June 23 in Dunedin
We are still finalizing which stops we will visit this time, and what the theme will be so keep checking back for more news. But we can tell you that the date is definite, June 23 in Dunedin.
This should be a big one, its our Anniversary! June marks one year since our first pilot ride. Most of you were not there for that one, it was only a daring dozen or so. But we hope to mark the occasion in a big way. Be sure to keep checking this page and our Facebook page for updates on the theme, games, prizes and more!
OK class, your undivided attention please…
The ride is tomorrow, and as usual I want to take this chance to remind you of some of the important points before we head out.
- Everybody please come see myself or Michele at the first stop and sign in. I am going to start keeping track of who comes and awarding prizes for attendance, even if you dont dress up!
- BE SURE you have lights on the front AND back of your bicycle. Its the law! Just last month a rider on another bicycle run was injured in Ozona when she rode into a ditch, because she couldnt see it, because she had no lights. I have seen other groups who will not allow people to ride without lights. I dont want to be that strict about it, but please, dont be an idiot, Wal-Mart has lights for about $20 for the full set.
- On the same note as #2, please ride in a nice tight group. The rider who broke her neck last month was riding off on her own at the time. Stay in the group, we have riders front and back coordinating to keep us all safe. This also means no leaving a stop early to skip ahead, no side routes, no shortcuts. The last thing any of us want is a serious injury on one of our rides.
- PLEASE pace your “consumption”. Half of the stops this month have full service liquor. Stop and think about if its really a good idea to lead off the night with a round of shots. There will be plenty of time for that toward the end of the night.
That completes my rant. I hope to see you all out tomorrow, we will all have a lot of fun. I just want everyone to know that, though I may be very vocal sometimes, it’s always about all of us having fun SAFELY.
These are the shirts you will see us passing out all year long. Some of them with different prints on the front to commemorate a certain ride.
Now you can get yours personalized! Have the NPPR logo and your first name added to the front left of your shirt. Select the Personalization option and be sure to add your name. Personalization adds $10 and takes an additional 7 days.
What are YOU gonna DO brother?!? When these shirts go wild all over YOU!!

Whether you were there, or not, you can still help Pinellas Pub Ride fight autism. We still have some mugs left, and just as before, 100% of the money goes to Dunedin’s Family Network on Disabilities.
